About this Entry: The University of Maryland School of Nursing’s (UMSON) 2019 holiday greeting video – aimed at connecting with our community of 20,000+ alumni, friends, and supporters while celebrating the 2019 holiday season and honoring the School’s 130th anniversary – highlights both the history the School’s history and evolution since its founding in 1889. The video, filmed in just two days, features a series of historic-to-present-day photo metamorphoses using archival photos that transform into modern-day video vignettes.
These vignettes include the School’s first graduating class transforming into a group of present-day entry-into-practice nursing students; an operating room from the early 1900s morphing into a present-day simulation lab featuring Nurse Anesthesia students and faculty; and a community/public health nursing student from [year], the first year the specialty was offered at UMSON, becoming a present-day student in the same specialty, entering a partner organization that serves residents in our neighboring West Baltimore communities.
